Loved this! Loved to read a fic where Saruman is still one of the good guys. I do love it that he is interested in Mahtan and is willing to teach him. It makes so much sense. And a pumice island! I love that in so many ways, given that my own has huge deposits. (And I'm a geology freak.) :D
