I have nothing against cats personally *lol* I rather like them but I also must admit I rather like Tolkien's take on them in that little snippet. Its from an early version of the tale of Beren and Luthien.
My elves are not generally cat people, especially since I found that story a few years ago (courtesy of my beta who always seem to know these little tales). I think I like the horror elements of the cats because nice and sweet as they can be they can also be prety darn ferocious.
