Here is the first chapter of a story for the May challenge on the 'twist' theme. My premise is "what if Fëanor had been resurrected at the same time as Glorfindel (I am assuming that to be Year 1200 of the Second Age) and was sent on a specific mission to help the Elves deal with the growing strength of Sauron?" I don't want to give away too much now because this is destined to be a long story and in the first chapter we see two Elves trying to deal with the situation that has just occurred for them and it will take them (and us) a while to come to terms with it. Poor Maglor knows nothing yet and I don't want to give away too much, too soon.

Yes! I have reached 51,500 words in my NaNoWriMo novel, and thus have completed the requirements. The novel is by no means finished, but I am relieved to have successfully done what NaNo required, and I will now take my time reviewing and completing the story.

*Sigh*. I was going to try to write a highbrow fic and then dawnfelagund suggested a challenge to write a Celegorm/Oromë fic. I believe the challenge was to be called “Blowing the Horn of Valaroma” or something. So screw the highbrow stuff for now. This is a challenge I cannot ignore. So without further delay, here is my entry for the “Valaroma” Challenge.

TITLE: BLOWING ONE’S HORN

SUMMARY: Celegorm rescues an owl with a broken wing, manages to lose his clothing, meets Huan and someone else in the Woods of Oromë.

CHAPTER TITLE: NARN I HIN CURUFIN (The Tale of the Children of Curufin)

WARNINGS: CHARACTER DEATHS.

SUMMARY: Curufin's children are born. The killing of Finwë, the destruction of the Trees, and the crossing of the Helcaraxë all take place during this time, although this story is not about them. This chapter ends with the death of Fëanor, yet it is not about him. Enough said. I cannot give any more information lest it be spoilers.
